Ravensburger integrates German sales of BRIO into its sales organization for further growth

Ravensburger`s Spieleverlag sales organization and the German sales organization of its BRIO brand will be operating in the German market as a joint sales force as of January 1, 2019. By taking this step, Ravensburger is establishing sales synergies within the group and creating further opportunities for growth for BRIO products in Germany.

Ravensburger acquired BRIO, the renowned Swedish toy manufacturer, in 2015 with the aim to growing internationally as well as expanding from the games into the toy market. BRIO operates as an independent subsidiary based in Malmö and has shown significant sales growth – specifically also in Germany – within the Ravensburger Group.

By integrating the German sales of BRIO into the sales organization of the Ravensburger Spieleverlag, the Group is making use of further synergies. The integration prevents duplicated sales structures and provides additional opportunities for growth for the BRIO brand based on a larger customer base within the new organization. This results in a stronger portfolio of complementing brands that benefit from each other’s customer base. BRIO GmbH in Germany was founded in 1974 in Schwabach. The staff includes 15 employees who are exclusively responsible for the marketing and sales of BRIO products in Germany and Luxembourg. Operation in Schwabach will be relocated to the group's headquarters in Ravensburg on February 1, 2019. All employees of the GmbH will receive anofferto continue in their job out of Ravensburg. By this Ravensburger continues to rely on the grown BRIO expertise and competence of its salesforce. Ravensburger supports employees who are unable to move with outplacement support and severance payments. Managing Director of BRIO Deutschland GmbH Erwin Müller will work in the future in a consultative role. The BRIO head office in Malmö will continue to function as an independent subsidiary and will manage the German sales of BRIO products via the sales organization in Ravensburg.
