Our state-of-the-art mtu internal combustion engines remain key to making a success of the energy transition and providing reliable power across the globe. They are a reliable and dependable source of motive power, on land and on water, and are in service in numerous industries worldwide and across a huge spectrum of applications.

Furthermore, we hybridize our drive systems through electrification and offer electric-only battery solutions as well as microgrids, that allow renewable energies to be integrated with battery storage systems, electrical generator sets and internal combustion engines.

With this comprehensive portfolio, we support our customers worldwide in the attainment of their growth and sustainability goals.

One example of a reliable solution already available on the market that makes a key contribution to lowering emissions is the use of sustainable fuels such as HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil). It's great news that this modern fuel has already been approved for powering our most important mtu engine series. Because at the end of the day, it's not only about the engine – what's used to power it really matters too. With HVO, CO2 emissions can be reduced by up to 90% by comparison with diesel fuel based on fossil petroleum.

More details on how that is achieved successfully are contained in e-Report.
I wish you a compelling read!

This is how mtu engines become almost climate-neutral

Say good-bye to diesel fuel, but not to your diesel engine! With HVO, you can reduce your CO2 emissions by up to 90% depending on feedstock. It's already making a major contribution to climate protection and can help you fast-track your sustainability targets.

"HVO is gentle on the engine"

The German freight rail company DB Cargo is taking the path to climate neutrality with HVO. Find out here why this is not only good for the environment, but also for the engines.

Thoroughly tested

Rolls-Royce engineers have studied mtu engines that have run many thousands of hours on HVO. Find out why they believe HVO is good for mtu engines.

Data centers on the way to climate neutrality

HVO also makes emergency power greener in data centers. One man, whose customers have already burned 2 million liters of HVO, reports on his experiences.

How artificial intelligence makes mtu products smart

The EnergetIQ energy management system is not the only one based on artificial intelligence. What advantages does it offer you?

Commitment to combustion engines

Rolls-Royce invests 30 million euros in a new assembly plant – not only for diesel engines.

mtu battery storage systems keep power grids stable

Abo Wind is already commissioning its fourth solar park with an mtu large-scale battery storage system. What is so good about the photovoltaic-battery combination?
